It's a Wrap!
We’ve had an incredible 2017 and given life to a lot of salvaged hardwood! Below is a wrap up of some of our highlights and unique projects we had the pleasure of working on. We are looking forward to a very busy and productive 2018!
March
At the end of 2016 we acquired beautiful timbers from the original Windsor Smith shoe factory, located in Preston near our furniture workshop. Then, at start of 2017 we were asked to design a full dining set from the Windsor Smith Stringybark timber, full of character and feature.
Along with bedroom furniture, the brief called for a hall table, a full-feature dining table and a set of matching upholstered dining chairs for the dining room of the country home.
June
In June we launched our new “Kumo” Bed at the Melbourne DenFair. The solid unit is a modern and minimalist design with an Art Deco feel, but sits lightly in the space. The wide panels allow us to fully show off the characteristics and unique gum vein and borer bug marks that each of the timbers possess, however the elegant shape and lines in the design will lend itself well to a select or featureless grade of timber, as well.
August
We got the chance to give this quaint Richmond kitchen the YARD touch using wholly recycled and locally sourced hardwoods.
We supplied a large rustic standing dining table for the family to commune around, various floating shelving solutions and two feature sliding barn doors which hide the pantry and Euro laundry. The result is a warm and inviting communal space ideal for long lazy breakfasts and entertaining guests.
September
We completed our biggest single unit to date! This custom-designed shelving and cabinet unit, made primarily for storing books. Made from a feature grade recycled Stringybark timber and measuring: The drawers are push to open soft-close drawers with resin feature in the gum vein.
November
Any finally, drawers! Lots of drawers!
Custom drawer units, consoles, tall boys and sideboards were very popular this year.
We made a lot of different styles of drawers, and had a lot of fun in the process. Perhaps we will be introducing a new style to
our range in the new year! Stay tuned…
