2022 Wrap Up

As the last of our 2022 orders make their way to the new homes in time for Christmas, we’re packing up the workshop in time for summer and reflecting on the year that was.

We’re proud of all of the recycled timber we’ve been able to breathe new life into, here’s some highlights for 2022.

Dining Tables

Dining tables have been on heavy rotation as people have looked forward to welcoming back guests after the last few years, and the revival of dinner parties at home.

Because our tables are custom made in various sizes from a range of recycled Victorian timbers, we’ve made some beautiful combinations of styles, sizes and timber.  The Don hoop leg table in a 10-12 seater made from warmer timbers was a highlight, as was the introduction of the Kepler and Atlas tables.

Wall Units and Shelving

We welcomed back our popular wall units, and a new variation, ‘The Marlowe’ into our offering after a short break.

Our wall units are completely made to order. They can be made in almost any dimensions and the console base storage configuration is customisable.
The Marlowe is an alternative to a traditional bookshelf, with door storage at its base. This can also be made in a range of dimensions.

Both of these once again part of our permanent offering.

We finished off the year the one of the wall units pictured, made from a rich feature grade Messmate.

Sofa fabrics became adventurous!

We had a lot of brave customer choices in upholstery this year, which we love to see!

Here’s a a few of the options from Warwick fabrics and Zepel which customers chose for their Neptune sofas, armchairs and daybeds.

We make our sofas to order- which makes them customisable in terms of dimensions, fabric selection, and also the type of timber used for the timber details.

Breathing new life into recycled timbers

We spent the year breathing new life into recycled timbers, and creating furniture pieces designed to last a lifetime.
Timber was salvaged from all over Victoria in Peter’s timber safaris where we mostly salvage timber directly from a site.
We’ve worked with stunning feature grade Messmates,  an array of Mountain and Silvertop Ash, and varying tones of Stringybarks.
